Pre-Dawn light, on the Palouse River. A Female Belted Kingfisher with a Crawdad to feed the newly fledged chicks.
We were at the blinds before 5am, hoping to beat the birds out to the fishing hole and perch areas where we can observe, but walking in, we saw the female perched. Luckily, we didn’t scare them to the point where they moved upriver for the day.
